Who can open an account?
Nomo accounts are available to customers aged 16 or over. We don’t currently offer joint accounts. Nomo is currently only available to residents in Kuwait, KSA and the UAE.
What countries can I open a Nomo account in?
At the moment, Nomo is only available to residents in Kuwait, KSA and the UAE. However, we plan to launch in plenty of countries globally in the future, and we will let you know when we do this.
What are the documents needed to open an account?
The documents needed to open an account are:
• Your original passport
• Your Civil ID (for Kuwaiti residents only)
• Your National ID (for KSA residents only)
• Your Emirates ID (for UAE residents only)
These documents must be valid, so we cannot accept them if they are expired.
Plus, we need a new photo of your original, physical document.
For your passport, you need to scan the original passport in the app, and the same goes for the Civil ID (for Kuwaiti residents only) or National ID (for KSA residents only). As for UAE residents, your Emirates ID card can either be uploaded as a photo or you can take a direct photo in the app.
When you take the photos, please make sure that there is no glare and all the details are clear, and that you capture the entire photo page.
By following these guidelines, you can avoid problems with scanning your documents, and enjoy a seamless application process!
How can I verify my documents?
If you are required to submit a certified document in order to complete your Nomo application, you will need to do the following:
My ID is not being captured correctly. What can I do?
Make sure the document is fully in the frame and that you are not covering any details. The image should not be blurry or affected by glare or shadows. If you need additional support completing the verification process, please contact us so we can help.
Read our blog about how to correctly scan your documents here.
Why do you need my ID documents and a video of myself?
To verify your identity and to protect you from fraud, we require official government identification and a video of yourself so we know it’s you and that your documents belong to you. This data will be held securely and in accordance with our Privacy Notice.
Why is my application declined?
As a UK bank, we reserve the right to decline applications that may fall outside our commercial, strategic, and regulatory requirements. If information is identified during the application process that is linked to our prohibited/restricted countries FAQ page the application will be declined.
Other reasons that your application was not successful could also include:
Are there any account fees?
There's no monthly account fee to pay for your Nomo account. No minimum balance is required.
Find out all you need to know about our fees here.
What information do you need to know about my finances and tax obligations?
We will ask you some basic information about your finances, including a rough estimation of your assets, where you hold these assets, and which countries you have bank accounts in. You’ll also need to tell us where you hold tax residency.
We need information about your finances for regulatory reasons.
Is there a minimum income requirement?
Customers applying from the UAE via the ADCB | Nomo or Al Hilal | Nomo apps must meet one of the following criteria to be approved:
Have a monthly income of 15,000 AED per month or more
